PI-Planters

Architected a Raspberry Pi-based edge Kubernetes computing node integrated into a functional planter enclosure, featuring a custom 4-SSD HAT for Kubernetes-based container orchestration. Deployed and managed Dockerized services within a local homelab cluster environment. Integrated plant health sensors with a real-time data pipeline and LLM-based agent to generate contextualized plant status updates. Implemented a flexible E-Ink display interface for low-power system diagnostics and interactive feedback.

Case Design

One of the case designs, the case has drainage holes while leaving ample room for thermal management for the ssd hat and the PI all of which are passively cooled by a heatblock.
