Naruino's Carrier Board

This is the Carrier board I designed for Naruino's SOM Board ( check out the project on the homepage!)

Custom Carrier Board Design

Designed custom carrier boards for modular compute systems including the Naruino SOM platform. Structured power distribution, signal breakout, and peripheral routing to support display interfaces, I²C modules, and future expansion. Focused on clean layer organization, stable power delivery, and mechanical compatibility with custom enclosures to ensure the carrier board functioned as a scalable backbone rather than a single-purpose PCB.

Custom Carrier Board Design

Designed custom carrier boards for modular compute systems including the Naruino SOM platform. Embedded Systems & Peripheral Integration

Designed multiple keyboard and input-system PCBs integrating microcontrollers, wireless communication, battery management, addressable RGB LEDs, and OLED displays. Developed a reversible split-column staggered PCB architecture where one board functions as a master controller and the second as a slave, enabling flexible assembly and reduced manufacturing complexity. Integrated provisions for Li-ion batteries, NeoPixels, and modular expansion without increasing footprint unnecessarily.

I have also created a parametric 3D Model generator by creating a CLI Tool, the tool connects to OpenSCAD and connects to OpenRouter's API to access my preffered model that edits the model in real time to create a parametric model. The model is also connected to VAD and a TTS enabling me to talk to the agent to tell it to edit the model by talking to it!

Modular Hardware & Interface Expansion

Engineered magnetic snap-on display modules and Raspberry Pi Zero carrier boards to extend device functionality beyond traditional input hardware. Designed a GPIO-powered interface board to connect a Pi Zero to a Waveshare touchscreen, enabling interactive display functionality directly powered from the master PCB. Structured the hardware to support REST-based interactions such as Spotify control, Home Assistant commands, and live data display, blending embedded systems with networked applications.

Developed custom display controller PCBs for projects such as Story Spinner, focusing on signal routing, driver compatibility, and compact integration into constrained mechanical envelopes. Balanced electrical performance with mechanical design considerations to ensure clean assembly, maintainability, and reliable operation across prototypes.
